Jump Force Unlockable Characters[edit]
The following villains of Jump Force's Story can reportedly be unlocked as playable characters through certain means, but as are of yet unconfirmed.
Kane | Galena |
Though previously announced by Bandai Namco on their Twitter that Kane and Galena would be playable, they have deleted most tweets that had the announcement. There is currently no way to unlock the two characters in game. No comment has been given by Bandai Namco if they will be added at a later date.
Jump Force Story Characters
[edit]
The following characters appear in Jump Force's story, but are not playable characters (due to their nature and abilities).
Ryuk |
Light |
Glover |
Navigator |
Based on a February 28th article from Newsweek, it seems the previously announced 9 DLC characters have been leaked through the 1.03 Update aimed at improving load times. Youtuber SergioM3 posted on his channel that he had data mined the update and located files for the following 9 characters added in the update as well:
Character | Anime/Manga |
---|---|
Kaiba | Yu-Gi-Oh! |
Biscuit | Hunter x Hunter |
All Might | My Hero Academia |
Bakugo | My Hero Academia |
Madara Uchiha | Naruto |
Law | One Piece |
Buu (form unknown) | Dragon Ball Z/Super |
Toshiro Hitsugaya | Bleach |
Grimmjow | Bleach |
Though it is highly likely that these are going to be the 9 additional DLC characters based on the information available, it is possible this is just a rumor. Until the characters are officially confirmed by Bandai Namco, take this information with a grain of salt.
Once we have confirmation, we will update IGN's official Jump Force Roster with any characters announced.

Story
Bandai Namco Entertainment, Spike Chunsoft
An extremely formidable threat has arisen. The ensuing chaos brought on by this dangerous foe has caused the heroes of the Jump World to try and save their home along with the Real World. The game’s full lineup of villains have banded together with evil beings known as “Venoms” to see that both worlds come under their rule. Your custom avatar gets a new lease on life after suffering a severe injury and ends up joining the “J-Hero” squad.
Bandai Namco Entertainment, Spike Chunsoft
After being fully healed at the “Umbras Base,” you and the rest of the J-Hero’s fight for good against the evils that look to subjugate the Jump World and Real World. With the entirety of humankind’s existence on the line, Jump Force’s lineup of good guys/gals joins forces in order to beat back this mysterious new baddie. Four original characters have been created for the game by Akira Toriyama, who’ll play a large part in the story as well – Glover (director), Navigator, Galena (villain), and Kane (villain).
Gameplay Mechanics
Bandai Namco Entertainment, Spike Chunsoft
Jump Force is a 3v3 arena fighter where one active member of a team battles at a time. Each character is capable of pulling off flashy ground- & air-based combos, quickly zipping around the battlefield, and activating their most iconic super moves. A few of the game’s characters also have the ability to tap into their Awakening abilities (for example, Super Saiyan Blue Goku/Vegeta and Golden Frieza).
One of the more impressive mechanics of Jump Force is the abundance of environmental destruction that activates during fights. When it comes to the game’s online feature set, Jump Force will allow players to create a custom avatar and let those created characters interact in a unique lobby setting. This lobby will feature elements of One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and the Real World.
